It was disappointing for Windows Phone 7.5 users to know that they would not be able to upgrade to Windows Phone 8 mobile platform. However, Microsoft has officially confirmed that it will soon introduce another upgrade to its existing Windows Phone 7.5 devices, early next year.
Microsoft stated that the said upgrade, Windows Phone 7.8, would not be available to all existing Windows Phone 7.5 devices, but that most users would be able to connect their current software with the new features that the upgrade would offer them.
Windows Phone 7.8 would include features such as more app options, new lock screen options, resizable Live tiles and so on.
The company further said that it was already in the process of testing the software and that it plans to introduce the same to as many devices as possible, in early 2013.
