Apple has cleverly timed its latest announcement - this one comes at a time when CES 2013 is at its very peak of hectic activity. The company states that its App Store has now crossed the 40 billion mark in terms of app downloads and has also paid out iOS developers a staggering figure of over $7,000,000,000.
Half of this stunning app download figure, the company further stated, took place in 2012 alone and also excludes user re-installs and apps updates. The payment to developers includes the revenue share both from app purchases and in-app purchases as well.
Apple also prominently featured its most successful app developers and asked them to speak at an elaborate press release, thereby giving them their due credit.
Well, well, Apple is obviously most intent on keeping up its present app marketplace leadership status. Do you think the Apple App Store will be able to retain this exalted ranking all through the year?
