The team hosting the 2011 Game Developers Conference are inviting submissions for the 2011 Independent Games Summit. The mega event will be part of the 13th Annual Independent Games Festival 2011.
The 2011 Independent Games Summit will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011 and Tuesday, March 1, 2011. The venue is San Francisco’s Moscone Center, at the GDC 2011.
The main subject of interest will be Indie gaming. Discussions will range from game design, distribution, marketing, business and so on, and will comprise lectures by experts on the subject, roundtables from some of the top independent gaming developers and detailed analyses of some projects as well.
Suggested topics are as follows:
- Indie Business – the how-to’s on leading teams and making money with a gaming company
- Marketing and Promotion – all aspects of marketing and promoting a game online
- Gaming Design – discussion on design techniques, limitations of the same and analysis of the future of Indie gaming
- Case Studies – studying the various games with a view to understanding what clicks and what does not
All those crossing to the IGF final stage will get free tickets to GDC. Tutorial-specific passes can be purchased by those interested later in October this year.
